But my favorite runs are loops in Central Park and the 5 mile run from my door, over the Williamsburg Bridge to Manhattan and back. Ran my first marathon here in NY last year, 3:31.30. I was a weird kid (not that much has changed).įor the past few years I've really enjoyed running. I used to ask for terrariums and tulip bulbs for birthday and christmas presents and I would spend *hours* pouring over Burpee seed catalogs. All kindsa plants, not just the carnivorous ones. I've been a botany geek since I was in grade school. She now lives NJ in the dedicated reptile room of one of my diving buddies. Oh, and it also concerned me when a large, beautiful, pink-phase Colombian Boa that I had for 15 years started to track my doggie through her (very secure, locked) institutional cage. I stopped when I started to feel bad about them never knowing what it'd be like to live where their ancestors came from (probably anthropomorphizing on my part).
I kept reptiles for years and years - *only* captive born and bred animals. I love pretty much all kinds of flora and fauna and have volunteered at the Philly Zoo and the Philadelphia Museum of Natural History's live animal unit. For the past 10 years, I've been a bar manager at Broadway Theaters (read: I sell m&m's and overpriced drinks to tourists). Then, I managed a scuba diving shop in Brooklyn, taught scuba and crewed on a North East wreck diving boat outta Long Island, NY.
